Pet Diagnostics in Millbrae, CA
In diagnosing your pet, there are many tools that we use to understand the overall functioning of your cat or dog. These include – Digital Radiology, Ultrasound, Echocardiograms, and In-house Laboratory.
Digital Radiology
Commonly known as x-rays, digital radiographs are an important diagnostic tool for veterinarians. Digital radiographs are a pain-free procedure that produces high-definition images, which can be used to better understand the health of your pet’s heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, oral cavity, or bones. Images such as these can be useful in identifying problems that a routine exam may not, such as a tumor or an object that was ingested. Digital radiographs are also helpful in diagnosing dental disease, such as a decaying tooth.
At Millbrae Hospital, we use digital radiology, an advanced diagnostic system that allows us to take images that are a higher resolution and involve less radiation exposure. Digital radiographs are also easy to share electronically with other veterinarians, which makes it possible to provide second opinions and plan treatment in a timely and efficient manner.
Oral Surgery
Lab work is critical for monitoring your pet’s health. From blood samples to cultures, lab work provides our veterinarians with valuable information on how to manage your animal companion’s health throughout their lifetime.
Our veterinary clinic is proud to have an in-house laboratory that offers a variety of tests, including:
- Blood smears
- Clotting times
- Complete blood counts
- Cultures and biopsies
- Diabetes screening
- Feline leukemia screens
- Full chemistry panels
